A woman striving for adventure meets five shifter brothers…
When Fiona catches her husband cheating, she puts a full stop on their marriage. No longer prepared to take his abusive behavior, she kicks him out the door, determined to embrace change. A vacation is the perfect way to attack her courageous new life.
Stig is the youngest of five polar bear shifters, and his scheme to start an ice trucking business puts him and his brothers on an untraditional path. With everyone in Churchill against them—humans and shifters plus their matriarch—it’s a challenge to get their ice trucks on the road.
Fiona meets the sexy Stig and his gorgeous brother in Gillam. With their bulging muscles and stunning Nordic looks, something about the smiling duo imbues trust. Then, she meets their three older brothers, each charming and handsome, and her libido swings into overdrive. A dilemma since they’re openly interested in her, and choosing one? Impossible.
The Swenson brothers adore Fiona, and she brings out the best in them. Now that her vacation is ending, she’s discussing a return to Florida, but that might not be the worse of the trouble when menace stalks into Churchill and threatens to end their reverse harem forever…

The Idea Behind Fiona’s Mates
Last year, my husband and I visited the small northern town of Churchill in Manitoba, Canada. We went to see the polar bears that congregate there to wait for the sea ice to form. It was a fantastic trip and yes, we did see polar bears. They’re amazing! We also saw Arctic foxes and owls and ptarmigan. We went dog sledding—so much fun—and explored the town and the surrounding tundra.
Once we returned home to New Zealand, the town of Churchill refused to leave me, my head full of insistent characters who wanted their story told. And polar bears. Don’t forget the polar bears!
The big news when we were in Churchill was the damage to the railway line during a storm. The owners refuse to fix it, and it’s made life hard for the locals with costs for food soaring. I was excited for the locals when I heard about an ice road, and once I heard that, the final elements in the story I’d been pondering since arriving into Churchill fell into place.
Fiona’s Mates, a paranormal reverse harem romance, is the result.

About Shelley Munro
USA Today bestselling author Shelley Munro lives in Auckland, the City of Sails, with her husband and a cheeky Jack Russell/mystery breed puppy.
Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak – big overseas experience). A twelve month long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.
While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love – that of writing contemporary and paranormal stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby (strictly for research purposes), cycling, baking bread and curling up with an enjoyable book.
