Excerpt

While Beth sleeps, I’m scrolling through the notes Charlotte jotted down during our conference call. It reads like a script for a movie: a far cry from the life I had mapped out for us. We made love last night and it took every ounce of self-control I had to hold back. She wanted to be loved, and all I wanted to do was to fuck her so hard and so deep; to lose myself in her, knowing the memory of it would have to last us for … who knows how long.

Keeping this fucking secret from her is killing me. But what I can I do? I’ve been boxed into a corner and I hate it. Guilt is gnawing at my insides like a cancerous growth, causing me to sweat through my clothes with a fever inducing fear that I may never be forgiven. Trust is the foundation of our love, and here I’m desecrating it. She was the one missing mechanism in my life that I needed to make everything work; without her everything will grind to a halt.

I won’t be living: I’ll be existing.

There will be tears enough to drown in, and in Beth’s eyes, I’ll be the bastard who’s ditched her for the sake of some fucking business deal, or worse, for a family I hardly know. This will be the hardest thing I have ever done, or will have to do again …

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway ~ Hunter (Bad Boys of Retribution MC #1) by Rie Warren

Title: Hunter
Series: Bad Boys of Retribution MC #1
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: Contemp Erotic Romance
Release Date: June 2, 2015

From the world of Carolina Bad Boys! Hunter Sexton is too hot to handle..

Hunter:

My call-sign is GHOST. My roadname, too. I keep my head down, stay off the grid, fly under the radar. I’m the rough, gruff, good guy who does bad things for pay.

JB is my most recent mistake. The MC babe is innocence wrapped up in a rockin’ body. Don’t get me wrong, she has a wicked side, too. She’s kickass in bed, when we make it that far. But she’s the ultimate wholesome good girl, and I don’t want to dirty her up.

Hey, no one said life was all fun and games, right?

JB:

Good girl? I prefer to think of myself as a rebellious hellion. I live my life like I ride my bike: carefree, in your face, and full throttle. My soft side? Well, that’s reserved for my job.

I’m not looking for love, and I certainly don’t need any relationship complications. Too bad complicated is the only way Hunter comes.

He’s a quiet, deadly storm. He prowls. He hunts me. He wants me. He’s sexy, sinful . . . secretive. Hunter will turn my life inside out no thanks to his dangerous past about to come back and bite us both in the ass.

Who’s gonna save us now?

Warning: Graphic sex, graphic action, graphic language. Triple X caution.

Stalking to her, I kept my gaze locked on hers. “Enough sightseeing.” I returned the photo to its place.
“Something else you want to see?” Wide innocent eyes the color of a night sky delved into mine.
“Yeah. You. Naked.” On my bed.
I lead her upstairs without another word spoken. In my bedroom, I switched on a small light because I was not about to waste this opportunity. Our lips crashed together, and hers were warm and pliable, her tongue motherfucking acrobatic as it danced and dived around mine. For a moment, we tasted each other outside of our mouths, lips held open, tongues touching, and it was so hot I broke away with a groan.
“I need . . .”
“What do you need, baby?” JB’s voice had lowered to a dirty gritty lusty tone.
My cock lay at an awkward angle inside the constricting jeans. I popped open the top buttons, worked my hand inside, and straightened myself. The wet engorged tip kissed my stomach, stretching beyond the waist of my jeans. “Needed some breathing room.”
“Show me.”
I arched an eyebrow.
“If your cock’s so hard because of me you can’t fit in your jeans anymore, I deserve to see what I’m getting.”
Far be it for me to argue. I drew my shirt off and tossed it aside.
My cock needed no coercion making an appearance. Another couple inches pulsed out of the opening, splitting the denim wide.
“Good lord,” JB gasped. “You’ve got girth.”
My shoulders shook with a laugh. “Girth?”
“Holy shit, yeah. You’re . . . um”—she pulled her top lip through her teeth, leaving it shiny and still lipstick red—“thick as my wrist. See?”
She lined up her hand with my shaft butting out of the jeans. My thighs tensed at the touch of her skin against mine. I glanced down then slammed my eyes shut. She wasn’t wrong.
“Oh my God.” Her hands flew to my chest, and I looked at her through half-slit eyes.
Her touch ignited the fire racing to my nads. “What?”
“Chest hair, too. Sexy.” She tweaked my flat brown nipples and I shuddered hard.
I was a man, yeah I had chest hair, a black smattering across my pecs that formed a straight line down my abs and beyond.
She seemed to approve, rubbing her cheek against the light pelt then attaching her hot moist mouth to my skin, on the move to my stomach.
“Not so fast.” I pulled her up. “Fair’s fair. Top off.”
Crossing both arms at the hem, she winked before pulling the longsleeve up and off. Encased in a sheer black bra, her tits bounced, and her nipples were dark, coin-sized, pebbled. As I’d imagined, hoped, fantasized, she had tiny dots of freckles on her shoulders and across the high, full, creamy mounds.
Pulling her to my chest, I looked down her back. Those tempting butterfly tats increased in size the lower they were inked on her spine until the largest—bright blue, violet, and black—decorated her skin just above the dimples of her ass.
Finding what I was looking for, I snapped open the clasp of her bra. I hooked one strap then the other off her shoulders. When I pushed JB a step back, the bra fell to floor.
I ran my hands from the flair of her hips to the indent of her waist, over her ribs and up to her breasts. Cupping the twin mounds of so-soft flesh, I watched her plum-colored  nipples peek between my fingers.
“Gorgeous.” I bent, kissing one nub with a lingering suck then the other. I crouched even farther, trailing the tip of my tongue from her belly button and up through her deep cleavage. “Freckles,” I moaned. “I love your freckles.”
I tongued all the little dots I could find, palming her generous tits, scraping my thumbs across her nipples.
She raked her fingers through my hair before tugging on it. “My turn to see more.”
I stared at her breasts, frowning. “For a small woman, you sure are bossy.”
JB cupped her tits, pinching her nipples. “Small?”

“You’ve got a beautiful cock, Hunter.”
Oh dear God!
“Gonna suck it so good now.”
She slid her lips up one side of my shaft then the other. I watched, out of my head horny.
When her saliva mixed with my precome, she smacked her lips against the engorged purple head. She sucked on me, just to the rim and back.
“Is this what you wanted?” JB looked up with big innocent eyes. “Want to feel dirty with me?”
I held her face between my hands and drove up into her mouth.
After that first touch, I let her blow me how she wanted. My toes curled. My back bowed. I pulled the bottom sheet clear off the bed and struggled to hold back.
She came up for a breather with a smile, holding my cock in her hand. She stroked me, looking at the bulge of veins that stood in relief when she squeezed tighter.
“Can’t get you all the way inside, but maybe you’ll like this.” She flipped her hair forward and wrapped the silky strands around the base of my cock.
She went back to sucking and kissing my tip, stroking my length with her hair. The thought of the smell of my cock on her hair pulled a loud shout from me.
My balls drew up, turned hard, and almost traveled inside my body, my release was so imminent. But Jessica released me, blowing a hot soft stream of breath along my shaft.
“Fuck,” I growled. “Please. Need to come.”
She skimmed her teeth along the helmet of my head, and gently bit down.
My head knocked back.
“My big tough man likes that?” She bit me again. “You like it a little rough?”
The pain was just enough to heighten my senses, the soft lips afterward mind-blowingly intense. “God, Jessica . . . what you do to me should be illegal.”

An hour later, I slid onto my motorcycle. Helmet in hand, I ramped the Deus Grievous Angel to life.
JB materialized next to me, huddling inside her padded leather jacket. “Sorry about before. Rayce has issues.”
“And where’s your bodyguard now?”
“I don’t need one.” She unfolded her arms, and her jacket gaped open at her chest. She took my helmet from my hands and slung it onto the handlebar.
“Beg to differ.” She definitely needed protection from me.
JB made the first move, I’d testify to that shit in court. She leaned over me and licked her lips. Then my hands were in her hair, burrowing deeper, and I dragged her to my mouth. She straddled me when I lifted her onto my lap. The moist touch of her tongue parted my lips.
I groaned, opening up to her talented lunges, following the sleek kisses into her mouth where our tongues collided. I wanted to thrust down her throat with my cock. Rip her pants apart and fuck her until she screamed. Take her on my motorcycle and spray my come all over her body. The intensity of my reaction steered all coherent thought from my head.
The soul-searing kiss lit me up inside. I wanted more.
Bad move. One of my worst. I’d regret it later. Right now I’d savor the way JB moaned, riding my thigh, getting off on me.
I wanted to have this for one more minute.
I wanted her.
I couldn’t have her. I shouldn’t stain her. My soul wasn’t even intact.
With a growl, I pushed her off me. I steadied her with a hand on her hip as she found her footing.
“What’s your problem?” JB frowned, her lips swollen from my kisses.
“I can’t. Not with you. Not like this.” I wouldn’t meet her eyes.
“Damn right you can’t. I’m too good for you.” She zipped her jacket all the way to the chin.
Nothing hotter than a woman with an attitude who knew what she wanted, but I couldn’t take advantage.
“Exactly.” I throttled my raging black bike, shouting over the roar of pipes, “We agree. Never gonna happen.”
Peeling out of the parking lot, I glanced back one last time. Big mistake. JB stood under the halo of a streetlight with one stiff middle finger raised in my direction. And I wanted her even more.
Not gonna happen.
Only one good thing had come out of my life, and I had nothing left to give.

SNEAK PEEK:

Chapter 1
Lord
I fucking hated people who stole from me. Which was ironic, considering the only thing that had kept me from starving as a kid had been picking pockets and snatching purses. I dropped my elbows to the desk and rubbed a hand over my buzzed head.
Goddamn, karma’s a bitch.”
She the bitch you fucked last night, bro?” The leather of my office couch creaked as Mathieu sank his tall, lanky frame into it.
How many times do I have to tell you not to call women ‘bitches,’ boy?”
My words were met with a long sigh from Mathieu. Ever since he’d walked into Chains and tried to grab a guitar and run back out the door—only to be tackled to the ground by yours truly—he’d been a fixture in my life. To be fair, his choices had been to work off the price of what he’d attempted to steal, or go directly to the nearest cop shop. The entire situation had been such a blast from the past, I’d caught myself smiling when I should’ve been glaring and scaring the piss out of the kid. But apparently I’d done an okay job of it because he’d decided starting a rap sheet at seventeen wasn’t a good plan. Thank fuck. Almost two years later, the kid was my right hand.
And now that Chains was mine, someone was stealing from me—but not just someone. An employee. Someone I should’ve been able to trust. The cameras I had installed on her day off had already paid for themselves.
I rolled my head from side to side, cracking my neck. I hated firing people. It never got easier. And this time? This time it was going to be even worse … because there would be tears. And quite possibly claws.
Pushing up from the chair, I strode to the door without looking at Mathieu. Over my shoulder, I tossed, “You might want to stay here; Brianna’s ass is about to get canned.”
For real?” His words followed me out, but I didn’t bother to reply.
Every time I stepped foot onto the shop floor, a feeling of pride surged through me—pride that I’d helped build this business into one that was not only honest, but profitable. At least, it was profitable when one of my employees wasn’t skimming off the till and messing with my bank deposits.
Finger twirling in her long, dark extensions and gum snapping between her teeth, Brianna flipped the pages of a magazine with a giant black Sharpie in one hand, circling shit. Probably shit she wanted to buy with the money she’d been stealing from me. The store was empty, which made what I was about to do a little easier.
Bree, need a few minutes.”
Her head popped up, lips pursing as she took me in. “You can have all the time you need, boss.” Her gaudy fake eyelashes batted at me in what I assumed was supposed to be a sexy move. I stowed the urge to tell her to save it for someone whose dick got hard at the sight of her … but since I was about to fire her, why add insult to injury? The woman had been unsuccessfully trying to add her notch to my bedpost since I’d hired her. Bringing her on had been a mistake, and I’d known it from the minute she’d walked in the door, but a friend had called in a favor.
Boss? You had something to say?” she prompted.
I watched her, not speaking.
She stopped the hair twirling and capped the Sharpie, resituating herself on the stool and folding her hands in her lap.
Lord?”
You’re done.”
Bree’s dark eyes flew wide. “Done? You mean done for the day?”
Done. For good. Get your shit and get out.”
Bree lost the innocent pose as she crossed her arms and stared me down. “Not until you tell me why.”
In two long strides, I closed the distance between the register and me and pressed my hands to the counter.
I gave you a job. Gave you a paycheck you didn’t have to suck a dick to get. But that wasn’t enough for you. You had to have more, and instead of coming to me and asking for a raise, you decided to make it happen yourself.”
The color faded from her face, leaving her mocha-colored skin sallow. “Wh-what?”
Get your shit.”
I swear, I didn’t—”
Don’t fucking lie to me. I can show you the tape if you want to see what I saw.”
Her lower lip started to wobble. It wasn’t going to work. I’d given her the benefit of the doubt, hoped I was wrong or it was just a one-time thing. But she’d gotten too bold.
But I need this—”
I cut her off. She wasn’t even going to deny it. Not that she could. We both knew she’d done it, and I wasn’t in the mood to listen to her beg or justify her actions. Even though she didn’t know it, I’d already given her a second chance. And all that had done was cost me even more than I could afford to lose. “I needed someone to work the shop—someone who wasn’t going to fuck me over and steal from me. You weren’t capable of that, so you’re out. Now get your shit.”
But—”
Save your breath, Bree. I ain’t listening unless you’re here to tell me you’ve got all the money you’ve taken, and you’re putting it right back where it belongs.”
Her face twisted into an angry glare even as the tears started falling. “You … you don’t understand.”
No, I really don’t understand.” I crossed my arms and waited her out. When she realized the water works weren’t changing my decision, she spun off the stool, grabbed her giant purple purse from behind the counter, and stalked toward the door.
You get all self-righteous with me about a little cash while you basically steal from people? Giving ‘em twenty dollars for their shit? Like you’re one to judge.”
A little cash? She’d skimmed enough to buy a nice used car, and I’d been too trusting to even realize it until the numbers hadn’t added up in a big way.
She slowed near the guitars at the front of the store and malicious glee lit her eyes.
She wouldn’t.
Oh, but she did.
Bree grabbed a guitar and swung it toward the rack as the chimes above the front door jangled. Wood crashed against wood, and two female screeches erupted.
Shit … if she injured a customer…
I charged Bree and ripped the guitar from her hands before she could swing again. A swirl of red hair caught my attention as the other woman dodged out of the strike zone.
Bree struggled against my hold, and I wondered if I was going to end up with a face full of the acrylic claws tearing at my arms. “Let go of me, you asshole!”
Whoa, boss. Getting the door for ya.” Mathieu bolted across the shop and yanked the door open again. I hustled Bree out and set her free on the sidewalk.
She spun to face Mathieu and me. “You’re gonna regret this,” she hissed. “I swear, you will.”
A soft laugh came from the open door. “From what I’ve seen, I highly doubt it.”
Bree opened her mouth to spew something else, but I shut her down. “Get gone. I don’t ever wanna see you near my shop again.”
Bree’s flinty eyes narrowed as she shouldered her purse. “Fuck you, Lord. You think you’re better than me? Not a chance. You’re just thievin’ street scum. Fuck you.”
And now she’s getting repetitious,” the husky female voice commented from behind me.
Lip curling in disgust, Bree turned and marched toward the corner, never looking back.
Her exit could totally use some work, but all-in-all, that was one hell of a welcome.”
I turned to survey the woman standing in the doorway of Chains. Even without a photographic memory, I didn’t think I’d ever forget this particular pose: one arm braced on the doorframe and the other propped on her hip, a green dress hugging curves that had my entire body sitting up and taking notice. Matched with her long, curling red hair, she was a goddamn knockout. What the hell is she doing here?
You lost, sweet thing?”
She stepped onto the sidewalk and tore the HELP WANTED sign off the bottom corner of the front window. Holding it between two fingers, she smiled. “Nope. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’m your newest employee.”

Excerpt

The rest of my family arrives with the late afternoon. There’s an awkward trepidation surrounding each of them before they approach me, and although it makes me feel slightly guilty, I’m a little grateful for it as well. It allows me to soak into a familiar level of numbness that only seems to briefly break when Jameson arrives. His familiar smile falters when he sees me, but he replaces it quickly and pulls me into a hug. Chicken pot pie is our family’s traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and although I was glad to not have a traditional meal on Thanksgiving with Fitz’s family, I’m even more glad to have the comforting aroma and taste of my mom’s chicken pot pie. “Ace, do you want some more bread?” Savannah asks, lifting the bread basket and tilting it in my direction. I think I’ve already had this same question posed to me nine other times. “I’m good thanks.” “How about some more fried apples?” my mom asks, doing as Savannah had and reaching for the bowl in front of her. I try to think of a polite way to tell them all to stop bothering me about eating when a glint catches my eye with my mom’s movement. My hand snatches hers and before I realize what I’m doing, I’m gripping her hand too tightly. Bile rises in my throat, forcing me to swallow painfully. “We were going to tell you all tonight,” she begins. Her hand grows rigid and she attempts to slip her fingers from my hold. I squeeze tighter. “We wanted you to all find out together.” “What in the hell is wrong with you?” I shout, dropping her hand and retracting mine because I don’t want to touch her. I don’t even want to look at her. I shove my chair back and stand up, not caring what the others are doing in reaction. “Harper Jo, sit down,” my mom orders, her voice louder than I’ve heard it in years, possibly ever. I keep walking. Her quick footsteps follow me. I know that it’s her because of the sound of her heels. My mom has always worn shoes to dinner, and ninety percent of her shoe closet consists of high heels, and right now this fact annoys the hell out of me. I turn to face her when I reach the kitchen. My mouth opens, preparing to let loose on the anger fueling me, but she beats me to it. “You get back in there this instant! You do not get to judge me, young lady. This is my house, and in my house you respect me. Now get back in there and eat something. You look horrible.” Her tone inflicts a pain that I want to return. “It hasn’t even been a year!” The volume of my accusation hurts my own ears. “Did you ever even love him?” Her face contorts, changing from shock to anger to something that looks nearly wicked. “That’s quite the question coming from you, when you packed your bags and left everyone without looking over your shoulder.” “I hate you right now.” My voice comes out balanced and heat races through me. I was never the rebellious teenager. In all of my life, I never did scream these same words at my mom like I’d heard Mindi, Jenny, Kendall, and even Savannah do on different occasions. But right now, all I feel toward her is hatred that blinds me from any other emotion. “I’m not so fond of you lately either, kiddo.” “Then why in the hell did you make such a big deal about me coming home?” “It was a mistake.” Her light blue eyes look glacial as she stares directly into mine without a hint of regret or remorse. “I guess you can add it to your list, behind getting engaged within seven months of your husband dying.” My words are far quieter this time. I don’t have the energy to scream them at her like I want to. I use the small amount of what is left to turn before she can respond and head out to the backyard. My pain feels like a living, breathing thing, consuming me inch by inch as her words play over in my head. My mom’s getting married. The heat that had filled me seconds ago fades, replaced by an icy chill. As I look into the pool that once only held fun and an escape, my body begins to sway. I want to escape again. I want to escape from everything. Not even the familiar pool holds a warm embrace for me. The water is far cooler than what it has always been kept at, making my skin prickle as I sink further into the abyss. I open my eyes as I go, looking out into a never ending sea of blue. Arms grab me before I can fully appreciate the beauty of the water and the bubbles floating from my throat to the surface where blurred lights dance. They pull me against a large body that feels sharp in contrast to the open water. As we plunge through the surface, into the night air, I hear him take in a deep breath. He is still anchoring me against him, pulling me toward the shallow end. I don’t resist. I don’t know what I was doing coming in here. I’m sure he’s thinking I’m insane, or trying to kill myself. I’m not. I wasn’t. I just needed to feel something that didn’t hurt.

About The Author

I am a retired military wife and homeschool mom. I have often joked that we started our second life when daughter graduated from school, and then less than a year later hubby retired from military. But the reality is, we did start a new life, because life as we had known it for so many years, went through a drastic change.
It was about four years ago that my daughter started urging me to write. "You have a great imagination for storytelling!" She insisted. I didn't think so, but decided to give it a try. We spent many hours sitting at our local Wendy's brainstorming the story line for my books. And while she insists I have such a great imagination, she is the one that truly has the gift for writing action scenes and has given me many fantastic ideas to incorporate in my books.
My writing has become a family affair. My husband runs my website; I would have never been able to set it up and have it running smoothly. My daughter helps me keep up with all of the social media, and is now my full time writing partner. It didn't take us very long to realize that we each specialized in different areas, and when put together, we rock! The fact that the family is involved in making my dream come true makes this journey fun. We can be found sitting around the table tossing around ideas for future stories, or how a story can be improved often.
When not writing, I love to read, and play games with the family. Friday night is family game night. I make homemade pizza and we play cards, board games, or WII tennis and bowling. I have broken at least ten WII tennis rackets from hitting the ceiling fan or furniture. I've even come close to hitting my own daughter! She doesn't think it is very amusing, but still loves to sit on the couch and watch mom and dad at war.
